This page explains who is behind PlainSetup, how we choose and check what we publish, and how the site is funded.

Who Is Behind PlainSetup

PlainSetup is edited by Fernando Pompeu, a journalist and digital content writer with more than 8 years of experience in media outlets and news portals. Learn more on our About page.

How We Choose Topics

We cover the setup tasks small business owners and freelancers run into most often, such as moving to a business email address, sending invoices, taking bookings, organizing customers and automating repetitive admin. We only publish a guide when we can explain the task with the tool’s official documentation.

Sources We Use

Our main sources are the official documentation, help centers and pricing pages of the tools we cover. When a guide touches on a rule or regulation, we link to the government or regulator page instead of interpreting it ourselves. Every article ends with a “Sources” section. If we cannot verify a claim on an official page, we do not publish it.

Prices and Features

Plans, prices and features change often. We link to the official pricing pages and only mention a price if we confirmed it on the official website. Always check the current price on the provider’s site before you buy.

How We Use AI

We use AI tools to help with research and first drafts. Every article is planned, checked against its sources and approved by the editor before publication. Featured images are illustrations created with AI tools; they do not show real people, real customers or real software screens.

Independence and Advertising

PlainSetup is supported by advertising. Advertisers do not choose our topics or review our articles, and we do not accept payment to recommend a tool. If we ever use affiliate links, we will say so clearly next to the link.

No Professional Advice

We explain how software works. We do not give tax, accounting, legal or investment advice. When those topics come up, we point you to official sources and recommend talking to a qualified professional.

Corrections and Updates

If you find a mistake or an outdated step, email us at contact@plainsetup.online with the article and what changed. We check every report against the official source, fix confirmed errors and update the article.
